Even though we don’t travel very much, we’ve had some good food while on the road… So here’s a list of my favorite vegan or vegan friendly restaurants outside of the Sacramento, CA Area. More coming soon…
CALIFORNIA
- San Diego: SipZ fusion cafe – All vegetarian and mostly vegan. We ate there twice in 3 days. Our granddaughter (who’s a picky eater and not vegetarian) wanted to go back a 2nd day. It must have been the giant cookie smothered in chocolate.
- San Diego: Pokez Mexican Restaurant and Vegetarian Cuisine – Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Our granddaughter got a HUGE quesadilla. I went with the vegan potato rolled tacos. We ate here several years ago and came back.
- San Diego: Evolution Fast Food – All vegan. We had veggie burgers and chili “cheese” fries. Fast food at it’s best!
HAWAII – KAUAI
- Kapa’a: Mermaids Cafe – In old town Kapa’a. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. We ate here twice as well. Loved the tofu satay wrap. Yum!
- Kapa’a: Papaya’s Natural Foods and Cafe – Okay we seriously lucked out. We stayed at the WorldMark Kapa’a Shores and this natural foods market and cafe was right across the street! First of all I was able to purchase my Mimic Creme for my coffee in the condo. Also picked up some healthy snacks. But they had an amazing salad bar (that included hot foods as well) that you could just fill up a plate and buy it by the pound. Lots of vegan choices, I was so happy (and full!).
- Kapa’a: Ver’de Restaurant – Can you say delicious? This Mexican restaurant is very vegetarian and vegan friendly. It was so good, we had to eat there twice in less than a week. I had the veganized version of the Verde Verde Burrito. It was huge, so had leftovers the next day for lunch. Then we went back a 2nd day and Steve and I split the burrito for lunch. Too bad they are so far away….
NEVADA
- Reno: Pie-Face Pizza – Vegan pizza option using Daiya Cheese. Our pizza had vegan pesto and red sauce mixed, Daiya mozzarella cheese, artichokes, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives. We ate the whole thing…
