My "twins" - Bandit & Shirah
Hi! I’m petra-b (pronounced pay-tra b). Let me try to describe myself. I’m a 50 year old woman, adopted, married to Steve, an adoptive mom (step-parent adoption) to one daughter, Andrea and we have 4 grandchildren: Josephine 10, Jasmine 8, Raziel 5 and Ronin 1 year.
Steve and I live in Natomas (Sacramento, CA) with our “twins” Bandit and Shirah who are brother and sister shepherd/chow mixes we got from a Chow Chow rescue in May 2010 and a cat, KittyTah, who heard there was a vacancy in our house and showed up at the front door one day. Our oldest granddaughter Josephine is also living with us for the time being.
I am retired! I was (believe it or not) a COBOL Computer Programmer with the State Department of Justice.
I am also a 6+ year breast cancer survivor living life to it’s fullest!
Some facts about me (I’m warning you now before you get to the passions area of my site):
- Purple is my favorite color.
- My favorite nickname is Gramma.
- I love words that begin with the letter “P”.
- I love music, concerts, and am a huge fan of Prince.
- I love to scrapbook my grandchildren.
- I am a long time vegetarian and recently went vegan.
- I have season tickets to the Sacramento Kings basketball games.
- I drive a 2006 Toyota 4Runner named (G4 – for Gramma’s 4Runner). I welcome suggestions for other names.
- I love to garden and call my vegetable garden a science project. I pickled my home grown green beans a couple of years ago and no one died.
- When I grow up I want to be a warm glass artist – fused glass!
